ABOUT THE ARTIST

WHO

Lauren Doeschot is a multidisciplinary artist, poet, and community-based thinker in Fremont, Nebraska. After graduating from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2018 with a BA in Studio Art and a minor in Art History, she has returned to an active studio practice. Her current focus is on applying to exhibitions and artist residencies, building momentum for the next stage of her creative career.

WHAT

Her practice spans oil painting, sculpture, macro-photography, video projection/installation and poetry. Through these forms, she explores preservation, perception, and emotional archives, transforming everyday objects and memories into layered systems of meaning. Each work resists easy resolution and invites slow, attentive looking.

WHERE

Rooted in Fremont, Nebraska, Lauren’s practice extends through her frequent travels to western Nebraska, eastern Iowa, and central-eastern South Dakota. These movements through prairie, river, and small-town spaces ground her work in place, community, and regional histories. She is currently developing larger projects for future residencies and exhibitions, including The Vessel Library, an evolving archive of preserved keepsakes.
